I recently was in the lucky position to watch three documentaries on video games in rather short succession (Get Lamp, Indie Game: The Movie, and Minecraft: The Story of Mojang). The result, we can reveal, is a new novel called Minecraft: The Crash The cover of which, designed by the rather talented Ian Wilding, you can see below Minecraft: The Crash follows the story of Bianca and Lonnie, avid Minecraft enthusiasts, and - in a moment of sudden misfortune - car crash victims. Released December 23rd, 2012, 'Minecraft The Story of Mojang' stars Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh The movie has a runtime of about 1 hr 44 min, and received a user score of 70 (out of 100) on TMDb, which put together reviews from 44 respected users. Allotropy: Carbon has the ability to exist in several different allotropes, or forms, including graphite, diamond, and fullerenes. Here are some ways in which carbon differs from other nonmetals: How is carbon different from other nonmetals?Ĭarbon has several unique properties that distinguish it from other nonmetals. Overall, these properties distinguish carbon from metals and classify it as a nonmetal. Covalent bonding involves the sharing of electrons between atoms, which is a property more commonly associated with nonmetals than metals. Covalent bonding: Carbon participates in chemical bonding as a nonmetal, forming covalent bonds with other nonmetals to form organic compounds. This is a property that is more commonly associated with nonmetals. High electronegativity: Carbon has a relatively high electronegativity, meaning it has a strong tendency to attract electrons towards itself in chemical bonding. This is due to the fact that it does not reflect light in the same way that metals do, which is a property of metals. Dull appearance: Carbon has a dull or non-lustrous appearance. This is due to the strong covalent bonds between its atoms, which make it difficult for the material to deform. Brittle: Carbon is brittle, meaning it does not deform or bend easily under pressure. There are several properties of carbon that classify it as a nonmetal, including: Properties of carbon that classify it as a nonmetal Overall, while carbon does share some properties with metals, such as the ability to form chemical bonds, it lacks many of the key characteristics that are typically used to define metals, and is therefore classified as a nonmetal. Carbon also has the ability to form double and triple bonds, which are not typically observed in metals. 4Ĭarbon participates in chemical bonding as a nonmetal, forming covalent bonds with other nonmetals, such as oxygen and nitrogen, to form organic compounds. 3 Pure carbon, on the other hand, is not a good conductor of electricity or heat, it is not ductile or malleable, and it has a dull appearance. Metals tend to be good conductors of electricity and heat, ductile and malleable, and have a lustrous appearance.

26 Engaging in treatment early and consistently affords individuals with HIV the best possible care outcomes and also has preventive benefits. HIV treatment guidelines recommend initiating ART as soon as one is diagnosed with HIV, 25 and new research (including the Strategic Timing of Antiretroviral Treatment study or START) has underscored the importance of starting treatment early. Routine HIV testing is recommended for all people ages 13-64, 23 and several recent policies have expanded health insurance coverage of HIV testing. 22 Knowledge of HIV status is important because individuals with HIV can engage in care and treatment to achieve optimal health outcomes and can take steps to prevent transmission. 21 It is thought that 38% of all new HIV transmissions occur from those who are undiagnosed. Yet, as of 2019 13% of those with HIV are unaware they are infected. HIV testing is important for both treatment and prevention efforts and rapid testing is now much more widely available.18, 19 Transmission through heterosexual sex now accounts for more cases than at the beginning of the epidemic – 23% of new diagnoses in 2019 – but diagnoses attributable to heterosexual sex have declined 40% between 20, compared to an 11% decline among men who have sex with men. 17 Diagnoses attributable to injection drug use alone have declined significantly over time and accounted for 7% of new diagnoses in 2019. 16 An additional 4% of diagnoses occurred among gay and bisexual men with a history of injection drug use. In 2019, most newly diagnosed cases of HIV occurred through male-to-male sexual contact (66%). HIV transmission patterns have shifted over time.Still, more 1,740 people died with HIV/AIDS as the underlying cause of death in 2020. 13, 14 This is largely due to ART, but also to decreasing HIV incidence. HIV-related mortality rates, which rose steadily through the 1980s and peaked in 1995, have declined significantly the age-adjusted HIV death rate has dropped by nearly 10-fold since 1990 and by half since 2009.in 2019, and declines were not seen among all populations. Still, 34,800 people were newly infected with HIV in the U.S. There have been some promising trends, as the number of new HIV infections declined 73% between 19 and 9% between 20.As people with HIV are living longer with the disease, new infections continue to occur, and diagnoses surpass deaths each year, more people are living with HIV than ever before.Percent of people with HIV virally suppressed: 57%. Percent of people with HIV who don’t know it: 13%.Number of people living with HIV: 1.2 million.Number of new HIV infections (2019): 34,800.Additionally, the private sector and community-based organizations, provide services for people with HIV and those at risk for HIV.īox 1: Key Snapshot of the U.S. Numerous federal and local government departments and agencies are involved in the domestic HIV/AIDS response, which together provide disease surveillance, prevention, care, support services, and health insurance coverage. 8 Still, many people with HIV are not in care, on treatment, or virally suppressed. 7 When an individual with HIV is on antiretroviral therapy and the level of HIV in their body is undetectable, “studies have shown no risk of transmission” through sex. Treatment guidelines recommend initiating treatment as soon as one is diagnosed with HIV. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has substantially reduced HIV-related morbidity and mortality, improved long-term outcomes for people with HIV and plays a key role in HIV prevention.Yet, 13% of those with HIV are unaware they are infected. HIV testing is important for both treatment and prevention efforts.HIV continues to have a disproportionate impact on certain populations, particularly racial and ethnic minorities, gay and bisexual men and other men who have sex with men and transgender women.2 More than 700,000 people in the U.S., have died from HIV-related illness. and there are more than 35,000 new infections each year. 1 Today, there are more than 1.2 million people living with HIV in the U.S. The first cases of what would later become known as AIDS were reported in the United States (U.S.) in June of 1981. Review the information, then click Register. Paste the identifier copied earlier into the Device ID field: Set the correct Platform and provide a name for the new device. In a web browser, go to the Devices section in the developer portal and click the + button: Highlight the Identifier string and copy it to the clipboard: Under the Devices tab, select the device from the menu on the left side. Open Xcode, and go to Window > Devices and Simulators. Follow the steps below on your Mac to add a device to the Developer PortalĬonnect the device to be provisioned to the Mac with its supplied USB cable. To enable this, up to 100 devices per calendar year can be added to our Developer Portal, and from here we can select the devices to be added to a particular provisioning profile. When creating a provisioning profile for development, we must state which devices can run the application. The device must be running a version of iOS that is supported by Xcode - it may be necessary to update the device, Xcode or both. Now that you've established your identity with Apple and have a development certificate, you must set up a provisioning profile and the required entities so it is possible to deploy an app to an Apple device. For more information on how to do this, refer to the Exporting and Importing Certificates and Profiles section of the Maintaining Certificates guide in Apple's docs. After successfully setting up Development Certificates, export a backup copy and store them in a safe place. Losing the certificate and associated keys can be incredibly disruptive, as it will require revoking existing certificates and re-provisioning any associated devices, including those registered for ad-hoc deployment. For the certificates to be valid, the key pairs must match. The difference between the two is the type of keys they contain: the Profile on the Portal houses all the public keys associated with your certificates, while the copy on your local Mac contains all the private keys. There are actually two versions of a Developer Profile - one is on the Developer Portal, and the other lives on a local Mac. The Developer Profile contains certificates, their associated keys, and any provisioning profiles associated with the account. If you have the correct permissions a new signing identity will appear after a few seconds. Windows: Tools > Options > Xamarin > Apple AccountsĬlick Create Certificate and select Apple Development or iOS Development.Mac: Visual Studio > Preferences > Apple Developer Account.Go to Apple developer accounts window in Visual Studio. Once you have added your Apple developer account, do the following to generate a signing certificate: Any machine using a revoked certificate will not be able to sign their app.īefore starting the manual provisioning process, you should ensure that you have an Apple developer account added in Visual Studio, as described in the Apple Account Management guide. If you need to create any more, you will need to revoke an existing one. It is important to note that you can only have two iOS Development certificates at any one time. Apple requires you to have a signing identity to build your code for device or simulator. Apple checks for certificates to control access to the devices you are allowed to deploy.ĭevelopment teams, certificates, and profiles can be managed by accessing the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles (login required) section of Apple's Member Center. A signing certificate consists of two things:ĭevelopment certificates and associated keys are critical for an iOS developer: they establish your identity with Apple and associate you with a given device and profile for development, akin to putting your digital signature on your applications. The first step in setting up a development device is to create a signing certificate. Guide for more information about on-device testing. The instructions on this page are relevant for developers who have Graphics and visuals: The entire game UI looks awful. Some things feel like they are still in development, and it even received further development after release for some years. Otherwise, it's not easy to enjoy, even though it's a full game already. This game is hard to recommend, the only way we could really recommend it is if you really love sonic and furry hentai. Maybe that’s what drew you to the title and if it is, have a long, hard look at yourself. The gameplay is lack lustre, the sound and visual quality is laughable and the sexual content is suspect as well due to the canon age of the characters on the roster. Overall, this game is a train wreck, especially considering how long this game has spent in development. So as a game, it functions but the fact that this is the highlight of what’s on offer here really tells you all you need to know. The controls are responsive and that simple mechanics implemented work as they should. The only thing that we can say in praise of this title is that although the gameplay isn’t what it should be, it is playable. However, this is an example that proves that laziness doesn’t equal a successful game and this title suffers due to this consistent attempt to cut corners. Just look at Persona 5 as an example of this. Partial voiceovers accompanied by text boxes can be done well. Then where it can’t, you’ll simply be treated to text boxes. This game also makes use of existing Sonic games such as Sonic Heroes to piece together voice clips where it can. The presentation of this game just feels dirty and cheap and for that reason, it’s hard to enjoy. The Empty Tome theme from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night being a prime example of this. Then where sound quality is concerned, this game steals assets from other games too. The sprites for this title have clearly been lifted from other existing titles and its jarring against other assets that we can only assume were also borrowed from elsewhere. In terms of the visual quality, the game is sub-par. Then let’s talk about the presentation of this game. Sonic is all about speed and action and this game offers the player neither. Yet, without all the things that made those games classics of their era. In fact, this game feels like a side scroller like the old Disney titles like Aladdin or The Lion King. The developers rarely spoke to each other and as a result, this game feels like a mesh of ideas that aren’t cohesive and don’t provide that quintessential Sonic experience. If anyone has followed this game since it’s Genesis, it’s actually been in development for over thirteen years. This game aims to marry Sonic’s arcade gameplay with adult themes but does the game do this successfully? We find out in our review of Project X: Love Potion Disaster. Then perhaps somewhat like Babysitting Cream mostly due to the adult themes and links to the Sonic franchise. This game plays rather like the original 2D scrollers in the Sonic the Hedgehog series as well as other arcade scrollers like Ecco The Dolphin, Celeste, Sonic Mania. However, the one we will be focusing on today will be Project X: Love Potion Disaster. It seems that Sonic the Hedgehog is no different and the supersonic hedgehog has been the subject of a number of these titles. Yet if one was to research the topic, you would find that a number of children’s cartoons and gaming franchises have been adapted into adult content. In the experience are 60 weapons, which all have unique characteristics, such as recoil, reload speed, rate of fire and ammunition capacity. As an outsider looking in, you would assume that adult games rarely made use of child friendly content. Played in a 3rd person perspective, the player is able to view the characters created and witness the brutal combat more clearly. During this briefing, the player will discuss the upcoming mission and decide which character they wish to play as.ĭuring missions, the player assumes control of their character. Before missions, the player may customise the weapons their characters are using, upgrade their abilities using points earned on the field and then interact with their characters as part of the mission briefing. Throughout the playthrough, players will have to opportunity to edit, upgrade and interact with various elements of their characters, including their abilities and equipment. This is an experience I created whilst completing my Masters in Games Design. Throughout the course of this experience, the player will create a team of players whom they will use to complete missions. Probably not, because religious exemptions ultimately come down to an employee's personal belief and whether an employer can find a reasonable accommodation. Vaccination is a simple way of promoting the common good and caring for each other, especially the most vulnerable. It's important to look at how the EEOC defines undue hardship. Remember that under the law, employers must provide reasonable accommodations to workers seeking religious exemptions - unless doing so poses an undue hardship. What's considered an undue hardship when it comes to religious exemptions? "It's probably not the accommodation that those workers wanted, but that is something that the employer is providing," Hernández says. Román Hernández, a labor and employment attorney with Troutman Pepper in Portland, Ore., says historically, courts have upheld unpaid leave as a reasonable accommodation in religious exemption cases. A handful of United employees have sued, saying unpaid leave is not a reasonable accommodation but rather an adverse employment action. United Airlines has granted religious exemptions to a small number of employees, but the reasonable accommodation the airline has provided is to put the employees on indefinite unpaid leave without regular benefits. The NBA recently denied a religious exemption request from Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, announcing that the athlete will not be able to play at any home games in San Francisco, which has a vaccine mandate for large indoor events, until he fulfills the city's vaccination requirements. The NBA has announced the following: /6t1spKMU35- NBA Communications September 24, 2021 Their objections were largely based on the employees' beliefs that vaccines that used fetal cells in research, testing or production should not be put in their bodies. In Conway, Ark., Matt Troup, CEO of Conway Regional Health System, has granted 45 religious exemptions to employees who refused to get a COVID-19 vaccine. What one employer deems to be reasonable, another may not. What's reasonable when it comes to a reasonable accommodation? It does not have to be the accommodation requested by the employee. If the employer determines the belief is not sincere, it may deny the exemption request.īut even if an employee's religious belief is determined to be sincere, it's the employer who decides what the reasonable accommodation will be. They may ask questions about that employee's vaccination history or church attendance. The Coronavirus Crisis 'Love your neighbor' and get the shot: White evangelical leaders push COVID vaccinesįirst, employers may probe whether an employee's religious belief is in fact sincere. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says employers must provide reasonable accommodations for workers who have sincerely held religious beliefs - unless doing so poses an undue hardship. The right to request a religious exemption stems from Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects workers from discrimination on the basis of religion, among other things. What are employer obligations to workers when it comes to religious exemptions? Under the law, employers have a lot of discretion when granting religious exemptions. Already, some employers are taking a harder line than others. How many of those requests will ultimately be approved is unknown. In Los Angeles, roughly a quarter of the police department is expected to seek religious exemptions. In Washington, D.C., more than 400 fire and emergency medical workers applied for religious exemptions to the city's vaccine mandate. More and more employers are ordering workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19 without the option of getting tested instead. John the Divine in New York City sits empty as the rush for vaccinations winds down in June.
